| 内容記述 | ケアの概念は看護研究において中心的な位置をしめている．１９８０年代以降，多くの看護学者によりケア概念の分析がなされてきたが，明快な定義を与えることは容易ではないようだ．本稿では，ケア概念を考えるひとつの視点を与える目的で，「ケア」の原語である英語careと，careとよく対比されるcureの語法を，その語源，歴史的意味変遷を踏まえた上で，統語論的視点から分析，比較した．その結果，動作動詞としてのcureに対し，状態を表す動詞であるcareについて，サービスを提供する行為や技術も重要であるが，「気持ちが向いている」という心の状態がこの語の本質的な意味であるという結論を得た．このことは，看護研究で主張されるさまざまなケア概念の分析を支持する視点を提示することになり，また，ケアは看護者のみならず，よく生きるための行動指針として，すべての人間が考えるべき概念であるということを強調する論拠ともなろう． | |||||

| 内容記述 | The concept of“ care” plays a vitally important role in nursing science. A number of nursing theorists have explored it, and provided discussions and conferences concerning this topic since 1980’ s. For all such efforts, we are just able to give a vague notion of“ care,” not its precise definition. In the present paper, I try to examine two contrastive words “care” and “cure” from linguistic, i.e., semantic and syntactic, viewpoints focusing on their etymology, semantic change, and verbal usage, for the purpose of presenting a linguistic perspective for concept-analysis of“ care.” As a result, the fact that the verb “care” is a stative verb whose meaning is “to pay attention” and “to sympathize” supports various “care” concepts by nursing theorists. In addition, the etymological meaning of “care”, i.e., emotional attachment, helps us understand the core concept of“ care” not only in the sphere of nursing, but also in our everyday life. Therefore, we should lay emphasis on the motto“: Care is everybody , s business.” | |||||
