The purpose of this research was to summarize the contents of this 2009 international nursing practicum, and evaluate its outcome from the standpoint of the participating students. The practicum took place in a nursing home, with the NCN and NUS student nurses combining with each other into groups of two-to-three students each to experience looking after one elderly client, and observe operation of healthcare facilities. The research method was to hold a group discussion with the NCN student nurses after the practicum completed, and for each student to summarize what she/he learned based on this experience. Memorable experiences for the student nurses were divided into 8 categories, and as a result of consideration of these 8 categories, this practicum fostered for the NCN student nurses a new awareness of the culture of their own country, and a viewpoint on transcultural nursing that will be necessary for future international collaboration and cooperation, such, as the processes and methods for mutual understanding by nurses from different cultural backgrounds.}, pages = {61--72}, title = {サモア国立大学留学生を迎えての2009年度国際看護実習-学生の視点で考えた実習の成果}, volume = {13}, year = {2011} }
