Symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be caused by various traumatic events, such as earthquakes, floods, catastrophic accidents, and wars, and these terrible events traumatize rescue workers secondarily. The number of such events has increased recently and it is necessary to examine the psychological care provided for both victims and rescue workers. We investigated secondary traumatization in rescue workers based on previous studies, considering stress factors, checklists, and the mental health care system.
