In recent years, the medical community has incorporated the concept of hospitality in their organizational philosophy and started serious efforts to improve patient satisfaction. This study investigates how the philosophy of a nursing department permeated individual nursing practice in a hospital where the concept of hospitality was introduced in its organizational philosophy. We conducted semistructured interviews with seven nurses who worked in a hospital where the concept has been used for more than a year, and conducted a qualitative analysis of the interview outcomes. The results indicate that there are three stages through which nurses go through before becoming able to incorporate \"hospitality\" in daily nursing practice. In the first stage, individual nurses become aware of the idea of hospitality. In the second stage, they carry out daily nursing duties on the basis of their somehow shallow understanding of the organizational philosophy. Finally, in the third stage, they become aware of changes in their own feelings―a genuine desire to care for patients arose as a result of interaction with them.
